Welcome to Seepage Control, Inc.  We have proudly been in the business of pond and lake sealing since 1958.  Originally known as the “SS-13 Sales Company,”  we have been specializing in the construction and repair of sewage lagoons for 50 years.  Over this time period, we have developed our own exclusive “Environmental Soil Sealant” formula - ESS-13.  ESS-13 is a liquid polymer emulsion that can either be poured into the water, or mixed with the soil and compacted for maximum seepage control.  This unique formula has a variety of application options including sealing sewage lagoons, wastewater ponds and wetlands.

ESS-13 has many advantages over other lagoon sealing products.   Because it is formulated with simple and non-toxic products it is safe for the environment and more cost efficient than PVC Liners, Clay Liners, and Bentonite.  By using one of the ESS-13 systems, an environment is created that allows for continual seepage rate reduction.  The ESS-13 system is the only lining system that actually improves with time.  In addition, we offer excellent quality control and warranty.

Treated Soil System vs. Synthetic Liners

Permanent Results: The ESS-13 treated soil is a permanent system that will not break down. Synthetic liners will decay over time, and they will need to be replaced.

Cost: The ESS-13 will also save money - usually customers save 25% or more compared to synthetic liners.

Weather: With sheets of plastic, any rain can stop the installation. With the ESS-13 soil system a little rain will not hurt. A large rain that saturates all the soil will only temporarily shut down the project until the soil is mostly dry.

Durability: The ESS-13 system is more durable than synthetic liners. The plastic sheets can be torn or punctured with equipment, animals, etc. The ESS-13 system gives more than 12 inches of thickness that cannot be torn. If a soil cover is desired for wetlands, or if fish habitat, rocks, aeration lines, etc. are desired, they can be placed over the ESS-13 seal with standard equipment and no damage to the seal.

On-Site Supervision: For the ESS-13 system we have a quality control supervisor on site to work with the equipment operators. He will make sure that everything is right during the installation process regarding soil consistency, mixing the ESS-13 into the soil, thickness, moisture content and compaction. This protects the contractor as well as the owner.
